Presented in the restored chapel of Mayslake Hall, Rooted in Beauty features over thirty images that focus on the extraordinary wonder and diversity of nature. Artists Carol Byron, Becky Jane Davis, and Dee Gibson present original interpretations of the floral and botanical world. Photographs by William North focus on botanical ornamentation found in classical architecture of DuPage County.
In the nuanced dance between traditional and alternative photographic process, we find ourselves immersed in the landscape. Our work is a collaborative endeavor by four artists. Through our lenses, we nurture narratives that honor the resilience, wonder, and grace of plants - each each image a reminder that our connection to nature is deeply rooted in beauty.
